About LootEngine
Making DayZ loot easy to see and safe to change.
LootEngine is a free desktop app for editing the loot on DayZ servers. We're building it for server owners who want to tune their economy without fighting the XML.
Why LootEngine
types.xml deserves better than a text editor.
The Central Economy decides what spawns on a DayZ server, how much of it and where. Most of that lives in types.xml: thousands of lines of class names and numbers, with no pictures and nothing to stop a typo from quietly breaking your loot.
Tuning it by hand means searching for class names you can't picture, editing numbers in a text editor and hoping the server reads them the way you meant.
LootEngine puts every item in front of you as a card, with its real 3D icon beside its loot settings, including the items from your mods. When you save, it changes only what you edited, so the rest of the file stays exactly as you left it.
What we care about
How we build LootEngine.
Your files come first
LootEngine changes only the characters you edit, keeps a backup before every save and won't overwrite a file that changed on disk since you opened it.
Your data stays on your PC
The app works offline. It doesn't send us your files, your settings or how you use it. The only time it contacts us is to check for updates.
Free for every server
LootEngine is free to download and use, whether you run a hobby server for friends or a monetised community server.
Shaped by server owners
Server owners on our Discord follow development, report bugs and tell us what their economy needs next. That's what we build.
Who we are
Made by Baker Software.
LootEngine is made by Baker Software, an independent software company in the UK.
We're not affiliated with Bohemia Interactive, the makers of DayZ, and LootEngine isn't an official tool. It reads the game files you already have, so everything it shows comes from your own copy of DayZ and the mods you run.
